The village has one of the best beaches in Cornwall, wide and spacious yellow sand and pebbles with walks to Trevose Head and Mother Ivey’s Bay. The beach is enjoyed by families and surfers alike. The local Inn has a fine restaurant and hotel amenities and the Trevose Golf Course and County Club offers championship golf facilities. The local primary and secondary schools are rated as Good by Ofsted. Nearby St. Merryn has a range of restaurants, bakery, pubs, including Rick Stein’s Cornish Arms, shops and post office. Padstow is some three miles to the east of the village, a working fishing port surrounded by sandy beaches. The town has numerous independent shops as well as national chains and supermarkets.
