The town holds various festivals, including an annual music festival and has continental market stalls in the square at Christmas. There is a cricket club and also a football club in the town. Both the local primary school and the Manor secondary school are rated as Good by Ofsted. Wellingborough is a much larger market town with a population of around 49,000 residents. It has a theatre, library and a museum. Sports clubs include basketball, rugby and football clubs as well as a private golf club. There are also numerous leisure centres in the town. Independent education is offered at Wellingborough School.
