The village is surrounded by open countryside and has previously won the accolade of Warwickshire’s best village as well as numerous Rugby in Bloom gold awards. The village sits on the Warwickshire/ Leicestershire border and has a population of around 1900 people. The local primary school of St. James has been rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted and the Hastings High School as Outstanding. Local amenities include 3 pubs, a general store and post office, a bowling club, cricket club and golf course in nearby Hinckley. There is also a doctor’s surgery in the village. A nature reserve and fishing lakes are also here. The market town of Hinckley in Leicestershire is some 5 miles north of the village with a railway station that operates regular services between Birmingham and Leicester. Journeys to London are either on the West Coast mainline or the Midland mainline, via Leicester to London St. Pancras. The supermarkets of Sainsburys, Asda and Morrisons are all within easy driving distance.
